Fluidly petrified proposes a museum hotel that provides a space for conversation and relaxation in the lively island of Ibiza, Spain. This diverse space aims to provide empowerment and free expression in a manner to challenge the status quo that gender has in our society. The location of the site tries to examine the relations between soft and hard architecture and the way these terms correlate with gender.
The old common preconception that women are soft and men are hard has faded. The shift in the perception of the meaning of gender that occurred in generation Y witnesses the reconfiguration of the amount of power women hold in our society. The design idea was inspired by the emotion that softness arises. According to its aspects a living organism was designed with the concept to provide a space in flux.
In a global scale the building acts as an empowerment machine. The founder of this project , and famous set designer Es Devlin aims to counteract the commercial empowerment that faced in her past by providing the profits of the hotel to organisations that work for the making culture industries.
